Laura is a complete artist, originally from Argentina, now Parisian by adoption, a graduate of the School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, she could have, like some elders, switched to optical art or a social realism in vogue at the time, but she chose not to distance herself from the quest for pure form, and gradually expanded her problem, adding relief to her repertoire and later video, alongside her companion Ricardo. And its solid wood « Square Roots » look good, with their aggregates of cubes superimposed in squares or adjoining rectangles, swarmed with a woody vegetation prolonged by gills upstream and downstream, which exhale a centrifugal force, sucked up by the tree-lined voids that are also solid. The serial aspect of the devices only emphasizes the complementarity of parts.
